Gardien, the UK's premier garden security company, is calling on Government to step up action to prevent cycle theft, which is a persistent and historic problem faced by the public. Despite the overall 8% drop in national crime rates reported in the recent UK Home Office statistics, there was a reported increase of 7% in bicycle theft.
Bill Seddon, MD Gardien, says 'Whilst the Government has been vociferous in its calls for the public to take to the roads on their eco-friendly cycles, there is little evidence to show that problems associated with cycle theft are being tackled in our neighbourhoods. We have been focussing our attention on this problem for some time now in order to come up with some practical and affordable solutions. This is in response to calls from our customers seeking to protect their expensive cycles which, more often than not, are stored in sheds in their gardens.'

Surely an area where such investment would pay for itself.
