Press Release: Garden Crime hits Wales.

A spate of garden crime took place in Pembrokeshire over the weekend, as was reported in the Western Telegraph. In the early hours of Saturday morning a large garden ornament worth £50 was smashed outside a property in Lindsway Park, Haverfordwest. Other plant pots and garden ornaments were also moved round in the garden of the property causing the owners considerable nuisance.

A bench and garden ornaments were stolen from gardens in Saundersfoot on the same night and sometime between 6pm on Friday and 10am the following morning a concrete bench with squirrel legs was stolen from a front garden of a property on Stammers Road. Also during the same night thieves entered the front garden of a property on Brewery Terrace and removed a two foot concrete garden ornament of a Yorkshire terrier dog.

We at Gardien have been warning of a sharp increase in this type of crime for several months now and sadly it is beginning to happen. The pickings in our gardens are far too easy for both professional and opportunist thieves to ignore, and too often the victims find that they are either under-insured or not insured at all for such losses.

The public need to be advised of this growing trend and should be recommended to take precautions. Advice on how to prevent garden crime can be found at our dedicated web site www.garden-security.co.uk
