Garden Crime is not a summer pastime!
It is an all-the-year-round, full time "employment" for the professional and opportunist thief!
Gardien are predicting an even greater escalation in garden crime over the coming months. The recent "leaked" internal memo from the Home Office forecast increases in crime generally -as a result of the credit squeeze, escalating food and fuel prices etc.
Bill Seddon, MD of Gardien Ltd, the UK's leading specialist company in garden security, is warning gardeners across the country that they are most likely to be the first victims of this predicted crime wave.
He forecasts that " As the darker nights approach, we are convinced that thieves will continue to turn their attention away from house burglaries (many of which now have sophisticated alarm systems) to the easy targets presented by our gardens. In addition, the current increase in "Metal Theft" to fuel the emerging industrial nations puts the spotlight inevitably on our gardens, where gates, garden rollers, benches, garden antiques, pipework and metal roofing materials etc. are now targeted by professional and opportunist thieves alike.
Such has been the level of activity on our website www.garden-security.co.uk that on 1st Oct we also released our "Garden Security Newsletter" which is being made available every month to Crime Reduction Officers in every police force in the country and to the gardening public. To sign up go to http://www.garden-security.co.uk
To cope with the rising demand, we have also introduced a unique Victim Support Initiative for anyone who has suffered from garden theft, offering free advice on Prevention and Retrieval of stolen goods. You can contact us via http://www.garden-security.co.uk/contact.aspx
We urgently advise all gardeners to extend their monthly work / maintenance schedules to include a few moments to review their Garden Security and to check their levels of insurance cover".
