Judging by the number of Theft Alerts and enquiries that we have received during the past couple of months, it would appear that Tommy T-Leaf is not only increasing his thieving in our gardens (as listed in the Gardien Blog), but is also looking further afield for anything that can be converted into quick cash. Examples include toys and play equipment from schools, nurseries, caravan and static home sites, together with expensive bicycles from garden sheds. It is not surprising, therefore that enquiries for secure metal sheds and bike security products have risen sharply. Bike Security Products: |

Protect Your Garden Shed With The Expandable Shed Bar The popular range of Shed Bars has a new member. This is an expandable Shed Bar which can fit any door opening between 1200 - 1800 mm. The fitting position can be adjusted so that the points of attachment are where the timber is strongest, generally removing the need to use strengthening pieces. Shed Bars are a highly visible deterrent to thieves. See http://www.garden-security.co.uk/DG-shed-bar.aspx |

What’s Tommy T-Leaf been up to?
There has been a worrying trend over recent months for live animals to be stolen, presumably because they can be turned into cash in just the same way as inanimate objects can. The variety of goods stolen should remind everyone that nothing is too heavy or awkward in shape to be taken away but, as pointed out elsewhere in this Newsletter, the number one target continues to be bicycles. The detail of what's been going on can be viewed at http://garden-security.blogspot.com There is always a rise in garden crime as the nights draw in and it is a good time to check that all locks, lights, gates etc are in good working order before the winter. |
